SB 277: A Bad Bill for California Taxpayers, Veterans & Americans in Need!

Just after we successfully persuaded the Governor to veto the bill that would have made $150,000 interest-free loans to purchase a home, to illegal aliens, Matt Fong has supported another bad bill that is on the Governor’s desk.

 

SB277 would make illegal aliens eligible for unemployment benefits. It will cost taxpayers $270 MILLION to set up the program and cost between $35 MILLION and $44 MILLION annually. California still owes the federal government $20 BILLION for the money they borrowed to pay unemployment during the covid pandemic. We are the only state that hasn’t paid back the loan.

 

Our state is also facing a massive $30 BILLION budget deficit due to the uncontrolled spending supported by Mike Fong. We need to take care of our own unemployed, our homeless veterans and not extend benefits to those who broke our laws to enter the country.

 

Governor Newsom should veto SB 277 and stop Mike Fong’s bad idea.
